Investigation into Fatal Crash at 7000 Gulf Freeway

Houston police are investigating the fatal crash that occurred in the 7000 block of Gulf Freeway (South Interstate Highway 45) about 5:25 p.m. on August 27.
The identity of the deceased male, 75, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant J. Wu and Officer J. Quezada reported:
An  HPD officer working traffic enforcement near the above address witnessed the driver of a white Chevrolet Impala strike a concrete barrier. It appeared the driver had suffered a medical episode. Houston Fire Department paramedics transported him to an area hospital. Doctors pronounced him deceased on August 28.
The investigation is ongoing.
