Investigation into Fatal Crash at 5900 East Orem Drive

Houston police are investigating the fatal crash that occurred at 5900 East Orem Drive about 10:15 p.m. on Friday (May 1).
The deceased male is identified as Andrew Short, 30.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant K. Bu and Officer R. McLemore reported:
The driver of a silver Nissan Rogue was traveling on East Orem when he failed to maintain a single lane and drove through standing water in the other lane. The standing water caused the driver to lose control of the vehicle, strike a curb and then a concrete barrier. Responding Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced the male deceased at the scene.
No other persons or vehicles were involved in this crash.
The investigation is ongoing.
