Investigation into Fatal Crash at 10600 Northwest Freeway

Houston police are investigating the fatal crash in the 10600 block of Northwest Freeway (U.S. Highway 290) about 9:45 p.m. on August 20.
The identity of the deceased male is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant A. Yasin and Officer C. Ballard reported:
A black Dodge 1500 pickup truck was traveling on the main lanes of the freeway when the driver lost control and struck the concrete media barrier. The pickup truck then caught fire. Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced the male driver deceased at the scene.
The investigation is ongoing.
