Investigation into Fatal Crash at 100 North Freeway

Houston police are investigating an auto-pedestrian fatal crash that occurred in the 100 block of North Freeway (North Interstate Highway 45) about 10:10 p.m. on August 18.
The identity of the deceased male is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant M. Sudduth and Officer M. Lozano reported:
A red Kia Forte was traveling on the freeway at the above address when a pedestrian attempted to cross the main lanes. The Kia struck the pedestrian. Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced the pedestrian deceased at the scene.
The female driver, 71, of the Kia remained at the scene and was questioned and released.
The investigation is ongoing
