Investigation into Fatal Crash at 900 Potomac Drive

Houston police are investigating a fatal crash in the 900 block of Potomac Drive about 10:20 p.m. on August 18.
The identity of the deceased male, 63, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant R. Dallas and Officer R. Young reported:
A grey Lincoln Navigator was traveling northbound at the above address at a high rate of speed. For unknown reasons, the vehicle failed to maintain a single lane, hit a curb, left the roadway and struck a tree. The vehicle then caught fire. Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced the male driver deceased at the scene.
The investigation is ongoing.
