Investigation into Fatal Crash at 7800 North Loop

Houston police are investigating the fatal crash that occurred at 7800 North Loop (North Interstate Highway 610) about 12:20 am. today (August 27).
The identity of the deceased male, 21, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant M. Barrow and Officer J. Quezada reported:
The driver of a white Lexus IS300 was traveling at high rate of a speed on the North Loop near the McCarty exit when the driver lost control. The vehicle struck the barricade on the far right of the freeway, causing damage to the driver’s side door. Responding Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced the male deceased at the scene.
No other persons or vehicles were involved in this crash.
The investigation is continuing.
