Investigation into Fatal Crash at 14895 Eastex Freeway

Houston police are investigating a fatal auto-pedestrian crash at 14895 Eastex Freeway (North U.S. Highway 59) about 8:55 p.m. on June 20.
The identity of the deceased female, 33, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant G. Garcia and Officer C. Ballard reported:
A maroon Jeep Cherokee was traveling southbound on the freeway’s service road when the vehicle struck a pedestrian in a moving lane of traffic. Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced the female pedestrian deceased at the scene.
The driver of the Jeep stopped and walked back to the scene and showed no signs of impairment.
The investigation is ongoing.
