Investigation into Fatal Crash at 15000 Eastex Freeway

Houston police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred in the 15000 block of block of Eastex Freeway (North U.S. Highway 59) service road about 2:05 a.m. on July 25.
The identity of the deceased male is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant G. Garcia and Officer V. Taylor reported:
A maroon Dodge Ram pickup truck was traveling northbound  at the above address when, for unknown reasons, the vehicle left the roadway and struck a concrete pillar. The impact caused the vehicle to catch fire. Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced the driver deceased at the scene.
The investigation is ongoing.
