3RD UPDATE: Suspect Arrested, Charged in 2025 Fatal Stabbing at 4512 Katy Freeway
Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal stabbing of a juvenile male at 4512 Katy Freeway (West Interstate Highway 10) service road about 7:50 a.m. on Sept. 30, 2025.
The suspect, Marcus Fernandez, 61, is charged with murder in the 488th Criminal District Court. A photo of Fernandez, who is in the custody of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ), is attached to this news release.
The victim is identified as Franklin Torres-Concho, 16.
HPD Homicide Division Detectives J. Caten and K. Stringer reported:
Officers responded to a report of a person down at the above address and found an unresponsive male in a vacant lot suffering from multiple stab wounds. Paramedics pronounced the male, later identified as Franklin Torres-Concho, deceased at the scene.
The victim was known to frequent the Katy Freeway area near Shepherd Drive, Yale Street, W. 11th Street and Washington Avenue.
Further investigation identified Fernandez as the suspect in this case and he was charged today (July 30). He is currently in the custody of the Texas Department of Corrections on unrelated charges.
